The focus has always been to start with sound and top it off with a bold, boutique-inspired appearance. When Michael Kelly launched we only offered mandolins or acoustic basses but those markets had been underserved so consumers couldn't buy great sounding instruments at affordable prices anymore!
The Michael Kelly Dragonfly collection of acoustic basses and mandolins quickly became popular, but it was hard to get. Musicians were drawn in by their custom appearance as well as how they sounded- then fell head over heels for these instruments that could be played anywhere!
